Why is Bidmatcher complementary to government publication sites?
Official sites merely publish and distribute RFPs to the business community. They took over the job newspapers used to do before the Internet. These tools are developed by public organizations and suited to their needs. While these sites do the job, they offer limited functionalities for private companies that are always seeking to improve their efficiency and productivity.
Bidmatcher responds to this need by centralizing the opportunities from all levels of government, making the documents intelligible, automating monitoring, and by distributing the best projects to the company’s operating platforms (email, mobile, CRM, etc.). So managers benefit from an effective decision-making tool.

A public consultation on the future MERX — Give your opinion!
| The federal government launched a public consultation on the next generation of its Government Electronic Tendering Service (“MERX “). All suppliers have been called on to respond. This is Keepoint’s position on how public-sector markets can benefit from healthier competition: |
1- Transparent information: Currently, too much data is either difficult to access (contracts granted, awards, etc.) or not available in real time. The future system should be open so that its public information can be shared easily, electronically, and quickly. |
2- Multi-platform portability: The era of business opportunities with limited visibility is over. This is the era of open communications. RFPs (Requests For Proposal) should be connected to smart phones, company social networks or directly to corporate information systems. |
3- Consistency and reliability: Too often, errors in human interpretation lead to inconsistent information in RFPs. The future system should have linguistic intelligence tools that standardize the data and facilitate monitoring by suppliers. |
4- Simplification of documents: Too many public entities use their own proposal forms. All the documents for submissions and responses should have a standardized format that gives suppliers a chance to find their way more easily and respond in accordance with the guidelines. |

All the questions can be found on our blog. We invite as many suppliers as possible to participate by filling out the official questionnaire by April 18, 2011. |

How do you explain this success?
I wasn’t a subscriber to Keepoint’s services but I knew Fabien. He contacted me because he had spotted an RFP relevant to our company. Due to his expertise, he accurately evaluated the probability of success when he detected an inconsistency in the federal offer’s categorization. Since then, we’ve become a subscriber, and I see that Bidmatcher is easy to use and saves time. I’m expecting another RFP soon…

In your opinion, why is coaching during the writing of the bid an advantage for a company like yours?
Responding to an RFP demands precise knowledge of the methods particular to governments. On the one hand, you have to know how to analyze the requirements in a relevant way, without interpretation. On the other hand, you have to know how to write your response with unremitting care so that it conforms with the requirements.
This writing method is something you can try on your own, but you risk being significantly less precise and relevant than an expert, like those at Keepoint, for whom this government method is a speciality. And Keepoint’s approach leads you to success in a more realistic fashion.
What’s more, with Keepoint’s help, I was able to respond to the PWGSC’s three requests for clarification, while ensuring that my responses stayed in compliance with the overall requirements of the RFP

Did this experience change your opinion about the accessibility of government RFPs?
I had already tried to respond once on my own, but in vain. Today, I think the challenge is really more accessible with the help of an expert. We worked hard together, in record time, and Fabien knew how to build our trust.
A federal RFP is totally transparent. We knew that one of the big players in telecommunications already had a $100,000 pilot project in progress with the government, but the final selection was based on precise technical specifications that had a major weighting in the final decision. Then, compliance with the RFP requirements, an unbeatable budget, and effective writing wrapped up our success!
